1. DESCRIPTION

The BorgWorld Windows For Workgroups Automatic Logon driver version 1.4.0.0
allows the user of Windows For Workgroups to automatically log in to Windows
with a specific user name and password on starting Windows.

The only way built in to Windows for Workgroups to log in automatically was
to use an empty password. This had the disadvantage that shared resources on
other Windows systems (such as Windows NT) which required a password to
access them could not be accessed without further security prompts by the
user.

With the BorgWorld Windows For Workgroups Automatic Logon driver version
1.4.0.0, the user can log in automatically using any valid Windows user name
and password.

3. RELEASE NOTES

Included in this version is an improved and better looking About Dialog, which
you can invoke by bringing up the Control Panel Drivers dialog, selecting this
driver, and clicking the "Setup" button, then clicking the "About..." button
in the driver setup dialog.

This version is the first version with UI localization. All versions up until
this one supported English (American) only. I have made an attempt to localize
for the following languages:

	English (International)
	French
	French Canadian
	German
	Spanish
	Spanish (Modern)

These preliminary attemps are limited. I used Google Translate to the best of
my ability to assist me, plus I have localized versions of Windows 3.1 and
Windows for Workgroups in these languages, which helped me to determine such
things as standard button text. Currently there are no differences between the
localizations of English and English (International), French and French
Canadian, and Spanish and Spanish (Modern). My intention is to actually get
individuals who speak these languages natively to assist me with putting the
finishing touches on these localizations. I also plan to add the other eight
languages supported by the US English versions of Windows 3.x. These languages
are:

	Danish
	Dutch
	Finnish
	Icelandic
	Italian
	Norwegian
	Portugues
	Swedish

If you are a native speaker of one of these languages, I welcome your
assistance with these tasks.

4. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

OS: Windows for Workgroups 3.1 or 3.11.

Hardware: Any PC hardware required to run Windows for Workgroups 3.1 or
	3.11.

5. INSTALLATION

Before installing the BorgWorld Windows For Workgroups Automatic Logon driver
version 1.4.0.0, please deinstall any previous version, if it is installed.
You may follow deinstallation procedure described below for this version (it
works for all versions). To install the BorgWorld Windows for Workgroups
Automatic Logon driver version 1.4.0.0, unzip the contents of the file
ALOGON.ZIP to a temporary directory. Then open the Drivers applet in Control
Panel. Click on the "Add" button. Choose "Unlisted or Updated Driver" from
the list and click on the "OK" button. Type in or browse to the temporary
directory where the files from ALOGON.ZIP were extracted. Then click the "OK"
button. The "Add Unlisted or Updated Driver" dialog box comes up. The
"BorgWorld Automatic Logon 1.4.0.0" driver entry should already be selected.
Click on the "OK" button. The driver will install and bring up a
configuration dialog. After configuration you will be prompted to restart
Windows. If you click the "Restart Now" button, Windows will restart with new
settings. If you click "Don't Restart Now", Windows will not restart. Then
you may click the "Close" button in the Control Panel Drivers applet. Then
close the Control Panel window.

6. CONFIGURATION

The BorgWorld Windows For Workgroups Automatic Logon driver version 1.4.0.0
is initially inactive. To activate it, check the "Logon Automatically"
check box in the configuration dialog. Enter a user name and password in the
appropriate edit boxes (On installation, the user name defaults to the user
who was logged in during installation, if any.). Enter a delay value in the
appropriate edit box (On installation, the delay defaults to zero seconds.).
This delay value allows you time to logon to a different user name before the
driver automatically logs you in. The driver may be temporarily activated or
deactivated at any time by checking or unchecking the "Logon Automatically"
check box in the configuration dialog.

The configuration dialog can be brought up at any time by opening the
Drivers applet in Control Panel and selecting the "BorgWorld Automatic Logon
1.4.0.0" entry in the "Installed Drivers" list box. Then click the "Setup"
button. After configuration, you will be prompted to restart Windows. If you
click the "Restart Now" button, Windows will restart with new settings. If
you click "Don't Restart Now", Windows will not restart. Then you may click
the "Close" button in the Control Panel Drivers applet. Then close the
Control Panel window.

7. DEINSTALLATION

The BorgWorld Windows For Workgroups Automatic Logon driver version 1.4.0.0
can be deinstalled by opening the Drivers applet in Control Panel and
selecting the "BorgWorld Automatic Logon 1.4.0.0" entry in the "Installed
Drivers" list box. Then click the "Remove" button. A confirmation dialog box
will come up. If you are sure you wish to deinstall the driver, click the
"Yes" button. You will be prompted to restart Windows. Choose the "Restart
Now" button to immediately restart Windows. Or choose the "Don't Restart
Now" button if you wish to continue your Windows session. Then click the
"Close" button in the Control Panel Drivers applet. Then close the Control
Panel window. Note: The driver is not fully deinstalled until you restart
